Ahmedabad, Nov 15 (UNI) The city has become the seventh hub of National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI), which commenced its operations from GNFC Info Tower.
The NIXI hub would restrict the wastage of bandwidth in local traffic, impacting economy in foreign exchange. It may prove to be a boon for internet service providers of Gujarat also reducing in the bandwith expenses, official sources said here today.
With the functioning of the seventh hub, one more landmark has been registered due to the efforts made by Chief Minister Narendra Modi, sources said.
The Union Government had already approved such hubs for Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai besides Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad in its second layer, sources added.
