Mysuru, Nov 14: Owing to the demand from the people and elected representatives, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has slashed the fares of Volvo buses here.
This was announced by Minister for Transport R. Ashok here on Thursday, Nov 13. Following the fare reduction, commuting by a Volvo bus here at different stages would cost Rs. 6 up to first stage, Rs. 8 up to second stage, Rs. 10 up to third stage, Rs. 15 up to 6th stage and Rs. 20 up to 13th stage. "The fare up to 13th stage was Rs. 38. But this has been brought down by Rs. 18," he said. The fare from the city bus-stand to the Chamundi Hills was Rs. 22. But this has been reduced to Rs. 15. The fare from bus stand to Brindavan Gardens has been reduced to Rs. 20 from Rs. 33.
