Puducherry, Nov 14: Floral tributes were paid to former prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on the occasion of his 119th birth anniversary here on Friday, Nov 14.
Puducherry Chief Minister V Vaithilingam, his cabinet colleagues, legislators, Pattali Makkal Katchi(PMK) parliamentary party leader M Ramadass and former Speaker M D R Ramachandran, were among others, who garlanded the statue of the leader and the architect of modern India on behalf of the territorial administration.
Pradesh Congress Committee(PCC) President A V Subramanian and party functionaries garlanded the statue to mark the occasion.
Earlier, tributes were paid to Nehru at the PCC office here, in which, Mr Vaithilingam and his cabinet collegues, besides PCC office-bearers participated.
The Puducherry Munnetra Congress(PMC) also paid tributes to Nehru at the party office here on the occasion.
