Pak to hold talks with NATO officials in Brussels

Islamabad, Nov 14: Pakistan army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani will leave for Brussels on Tuesday, Nov 13 for talks with senior NATO officials.

During the three-day meeting, the army chief will participate in the meeting of Chiefs of Defence (CHODs) and discuss a comprehensive approach towards complexities of security, including implications of US drone strikes in Pakistani tribal areas. ''Gen Kayani will visit Brussels on a special invitation from the chairman of NATO military committee Admiral Giampaolo Di Paolo,'' military said in a statement here on Friday, Nov 14. The committee is the highest military forum and meets regularly to discuss strategic issues concerning Nato.

It provides advice on military matters to NATO's civilian decision-making bodies, the North Atlantic Council, the Defence Planning Committee and the Nuclear Planning Group.
