Paes-Dlouhy crash out of Masters Cup with yet another loss

By Staff

Shanghai, Nov 14 (UNI) Leander Paes and his partner Lukas Dlouhy failed to win even a single match at the Masters Cup and crashed out of the tournament with a straight-set defeat in their last round robin match here today.

The third seeded Indo-Czech pair failed to pose any challenge to their second seeded pair of Canadian Daniel Nestor and Serbian Nenad Zimonjic whom they lost 1-6, 4-6 in their Gold group match.

The Indo-Czech pair had five chances to break their rivals in the match but they squandered all of them.

On the other hand, Paes and Dlouhy's rivals broke them twice in the first set and once in the second to register their third win in as many matches of the 4,45,000 dollars hard-court event.

Paes and Dlouhy finished fourth in their four-team group, while Mahesh Bhupathi and his Bahamian partner Mark Knowles finished third in the red group.
