Chandigarh, Nov 14 (UNI) Over 35.46 lakh tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis of Haryana during the current Kharif season so far.
Stating this here today, a spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said that out of the total paddy arrival, about 17.76 lakh tonnes had been procured by government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 17.69 lakh tonnes had been purchased by the private millers and traders, which included 3.24 lakh tonnes leviable and 14.45 lakh tonnes non leviable paddy.
While enumerating the details of procurement of the paddy in the mandis, he said that Hafed had procured 7.52 lakh tonnes of paddy, Food and Supplies Department had procured 5.28 lakh tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 1.81 lakh tonnes, HWC 67,574 tonnes, FCI 8,838 tonnes and Confed had purchased 2.37 lakh tonnes of paddy.
He said that district Kurukshetra was leading with the arrival of 7,04,480 tonnes, followed by Karnal 6,10,084 tonnes, Fatehabad 4,36,398 tonnes, Kaithal 3,93,207 tonnes and Ambala 3,19,745.
Meanwhile, 3,31,748 metric tonnes of Bajra has arrived in the mandis of the state during the current Kharif season so far.
Out of the total Bajra arrival, 3, 11,401 metric tones had been procured by government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 20,347 metric tonnes had been purchased by the private traders.
