Chandigarh, Nov 14 (UNI) Cluster I champions Orissa topped Group A quarter-final with all-win record after beating strong contenders and Cluster VI winners Tamil Nadu by 3-0 in the seventh Junior National Women Soccer Championship, being organised by the Haryana Football Association at the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Gurgaon today.
It was Orissa's third successive victory from three encounters.
Tamil Nadu suffered their first defeat but still moved into semi-final with two six points from two victories. Cluster IV winners Assam and Cluster V runners Jharkhand bowed out.
Orissa opened their account in the 20th mintue through Gomati Bara and three minutes later Thunki Munda doubled the margin. Bara herself completed the winners tally by scoring in the 63rd minute.
In an inconsequential match, Assam prevailed over Jharkhand by 2-1. Sangita Boro (19th) and O Dayabati Singha (24th) were the winner scorers.
Jharkhand reduced the margin through Sarswati Singh, who netted in the 41st minute.
