Depression in Bay of Bengal likely to intensify
Visakhapatnam, Nov 14 (UNI) The well-marked low pressure area over South East and adjoining South West Bay of Bengal has concentrated into a depression and lay centred in the early hours of today over south west Bay of Bengal around 600 km east of Chennai and was likely to intensify further and move in a west-north-westerly direction.
A Special bulletin from Cyclone Warning Centre(CWC) here said under its influence, rain or thundershowers were likely at many places over south-coastal Andhra Pradesh and few places over north-coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 48 hours.
The squally-winds with speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph were likely along and off south-coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours and the strong surface winds from north-easterly direction with speed reaching 45 to 50 kmph along and off north-coastal Andhra Pradesh during the same period, the release said.
The sea would be rough to very-rough likely along and off coastal Andhra Pradesh and fishermen were advised not to venture into the sea, it added.
