Cong slams MP CM on corruption comment
Bhopal, Nov 14 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee today slammed Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for his remark that corruption was not an issue in the state's assembly hustings.
''The comment is both ridiculous and surprising. While the Congress is making corruption a poll plank, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is saying that it is a non-issue,'' Congress Media In-charge and former minister Chandraprabhash Shekhar told journalists here.
Pointing out that corruption-linked complaints against the Chief Minister and about a dozen ministers were pending with the Lokayukta, he added that it was surprising that despite such grave charges, the BJP was claiming that there was no corruption.
''The Congress has already issued a charge-sheet with more than 100 charges against the BJP and the party would go to the people to expose the state's corrupt and inefficient regime,'' Mr Shekhar said.
The Congress had kicked off its poll campaign all over the state and star campaigners were arriving, he said while adding that Union Commerce and Industry Minister Kamalnath -- who is on the campaign trail -- would be here tomorrow.
