BJP MP Vishvendra Singh joins Congress
New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) Rebel BJP MP Vishvendra Singh, who had resigned from the party and the Lok Sabha to contest election as an Independent from Deeg Kumher Assembly constituency in Rajasthan, today joined the Congress here.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi welcomed Mr Singh, a scion of the erstwhile royal family of Bharatpur, into the party.
The MP, who was also the political adviser to Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, had charged the BJP with having put tickets for poll on 'sale'.
Mr Singh was apparently not happy withl the BJP for fielding Rajasthan Industry Minister Digambar Singh from Deeg Kumher without consulting him.
