Vijayawada, Nov 14: The number of mobile users in the country would touch 60 crore in the next three to four years as against the present number of 30 crore, mobile retailer Univercell Vice president Ramesh Barath said here on Friday, Nov 14.
He addressed the presspersons after inaugurating a showroom along with Telugu star Poonam Bajwa, he said 40 per cent of the mobile users were in South India. He said the mobile tele density was increasing day by day and in Chennai itself there were 80 lakh people using mobile phones. People were showing keen interest on the latest models by exchanging their old mobiles once in two years, and were going for colour phones from black and white one and also opting for phone sets with FM, camera and mega pixel, he said.
Stating that market share of Univercell was 20 per cent, he said the comapany would open 195 more stores across the country. By 2009 the company planned to have 300 stores and 1,000 stores by 2010 through out the country to achieve its ambitious target, Mr Barath said.
