Chandigarh, Nov 13 (UNI) The Chandigarh Pavilion in India International Trade Fair (IITF) will focus on intitatives taken to promote environment, welfare and tourism in the city.
The Chandigarh Pavilion to be set up by Chandigarh Administration's Department of Industries will exhibit various initiatives taken by it to transform the city into a "green city" through promotion of LPG, CNG and battery operated autos among others. As many as 16 stalls will be installed in in the pavilion.
The visuals of newly inaugurated projects like Beant Singh Memorial and New Lake with other important spots of City Beautiful like Bamboo Valley and Sukhna Lake would also be displayed in the Pavilion.
Models and demos of various welfare initiative including Model of Vocational Training Center for Street Children in Maloya would also showcased.
The stalls would exhibit potteries, statues, hand made woolen garments, artificial jewellery, medical equipments and devices, embroidery works, inverters and auto battery, honey products, Research instruments, Laptop accessories, earthen statues, herbal shampoo etc.
IITF 2008 is being organised by the India Trade Promotion Organization from November 14 to 27 in New Delhi's Pragati Maidan.
The theme for this year's fair is "Infrastructure and Women Empowerment.
