New Delhi, Nov 13 (UNI) Rolling bearings and seals supplier SKF India Ltd today said it has signed a five-and-a-half-year agreement with country's biggest wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy Ltd to supply mainshift bearings worth 303 million euros.
''We have signed the contract for supplying mainshift bearings to Suzlon,'' SKF India Managing Director Rakesh Makhija told reporters here.
For the supply deal, the company will use its overseas facilities initially and later on, it will shift to the Ahmedabad facility, set up with an investment of Rs 300 crore and will be operational from the second quarter of next year.
''Wind energy has a huge market potential in the country and we aim to play a significant role in that,'' Mr Makhija said.
The company had reported a 14 per cent decline of in its net profit at Rs 37 crore for the quarter ended on September 30, compared to Rs 43.1 crore in the same period last year.
