Patil amazed at political stance on terrorism
Nashik, Nov 13 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today wondered at the political stance of some leaders, regarding terrorism, ''as those demanding stringent laws to deal with terrorism were now asking for evidence in such cases''.
''I am amazed at the fact that those demanding Prevention Of Terrorism Act, Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) to deal with terrorism, are now demanding evidences. This political stance is not apt,'' Mr Patil said. He was indirectly hinting at the BJP and Shiv Sena during an interaction with journalists here.
Regarding allegations that the Hindus were being targeted in the September 29 Malegaon blast, he said that the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) had arrested only those against whom there were substantial evidences. ''No one can be targeted,'' he asserted.
