Bhubaneswar,Nov13 (UNI) The 2045 Bhubaneswar Raipur Express was forced to be stranded near Charbatia, about 40 kms from here as the driver was seriously injured when some miscreants threw stones at the train.
East Coast Railway(ECoR) sources said one stone hit the front glass of the engine and the broken glass pieces pierced the eye of the Driver forcing him to stop the train.
The incident took place at around 2045 hours and since then the train was stranded near Charbatia as the injured driver was unable to run the train with his injured eye.
Sources said arrangement has been made to rush a driver from Khurda Road division to the site so that the train could proceed further.
ECoR sources said stone throwing at the running train has become a regular affairs on some specific routes causing lot of inconvenience to the travelling passengers.
The driver of the Bhubaneswar Raipur Express has lodged an FIR with the local police station in connection with the incident.
