Malegaon accused on 3 days transit remand, being taken to Mumbai

Lucknow, Nov 13 (UNI) A local court today awarded three-day transit remand for Hindu seer Sudhakar Dwivedi alias Dayanand alias Amritanand Swami, who was arrested yesterday in Kanpur city of Uttar Pradesh by Mumbai Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), in connection with the recent Malegaon bomb blast.

Judicial Magistrate Mukesh Kumar Singh directed the Mumbai ATS to produce Sudhakar in Nashik court by 1600 hrs on Novemeber 16. Today, being a holiday, the accused was produced at the Judge's residence.

Meanwhile, he was being taken to Mumbai for further interrogation.

The Malegaon blast suspect was rounded up in Kanpur after a joint operation of ATS teams of Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh.

A self-styled Peethadishwar of Sharda Sarvagya Peeth, Sudhakar was arrested at his brother's residence in Rawatpur, Kanpur where he was staying as Dayanand. He had shifted to Jammu in 2003 and was residing at Trikut Nagar as chief of the 'Math' there.

Mumbai ATS had sought his interrogation in Malegaon blast case.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Nashik had instructed UP ATS to round him up and hand him over to Mumbai, ATS.
