Kishanganj, Nov 13: Kishanganj Superintendent of Police (SP) M R Naik has been awarded with gold medal by Szent Istvan University of Hungary for his splendid contribution to promote education among children especially girls and promoting cultural mooring in co-ordination with Hungarian academicians.
Arpap Kovacs Endre and Mahesh Kumar Singh of Szent Istvan University came here to present the gold medal to the senior cop at his office on Wednesday, Nov 12.
The SP, who did his M.Tech from IIT, Kanpur in 1995 and joined IPS in 1998, has besides earning kudos as a senior cop, always evinced tremendous interest in espousing the social causes. He hails from Warrangal district in Andhra Prasad.
He will also be conferred with the Honorary Doctorate at the university in Hungary in June 2009, informed Prof Endre.
Mr Naik is the third Indian to be honoured by the university of Hungary. Earlier J D Agrawal, Chairman, Indian Institute of Technology and B P Singh, Dean, Delhi University were conferred with the honour and presented gold medals, Prof Singh here informed.
