Cong removes Yogendra Makwana from AICC's SC Department
New Delhi, Nov 13 (UNI) In a stern disciplinary action, Congress President Sonia Gandhi today removed former Union Minister Yogendra Makwana from the post of Chairman of the Scheduled Caste Department of the All India Congress Committee for ''publicly criticising the policies and functioning of the party for quite a long time.'' In a release, the party said Mr Makwana's conduct amounted to gross indiscipline.
Mr Makwana had stood by the sacked Congress General Secretary Margaret Alva who had charged the party with having put tickets on 'sale' for contesting the Karnataka Assembly elections.
