Authorities gearing up to meet any challenge from separatists
Srinagar, Nov 13 (UNI) The authorities in the summer capital and its adjoining areas are gearing up to meet any threat to peace following ''Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) chalo call'' given by the breakaway Hurriyat Conference (HC).
The HC has appealed to people to reach the TRC where HC chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani is expected to join the Friday prayers after his return from Mumbai via Delhi where he underwent heart and kidney treatment.
Official sources said the district administration had decided not to allow such gathering at the TRC.
Similar call for Jamia Masjid chalo, given by the Coordination Committee (CC), was foiled by the authorities on November 6 and 7 when undeclared curfew was imposed in the entire city and moderate HC chairman Moulvi Omar Farooq was put under house arrest along with other separatist leaders.
