AGP back to NDA fold after AGP-BJP meet
New Delhi, Nov 13 (UNI) Barely months before the general elections, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) returned to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) fold following a meeting of the top brass of the BJP and the AGP.
The last evening meeting was held between Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj and AGP president Chandra Mohan Patwari, working president Phani Bhushan Choudhary, general secretary Biren Prasad Baishya and senior party members Sarbannanda Sonowal, Padma Hazarika, Arun Sarma and Kumar Dipak Das, according to the BJP.
While agreeing that all anti-Congress forces need to unite to save the country, both parties decided to work together at the state and central level during the forthcoming general elections.
It was also decided that in order to save India, Assam has to be saved from the tyranny of the Congress misrule.
