Chennai, Nov 12 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Lal Krishna Advani today hit out at the Congress led UPA government at the Centre and alleged that all sections of people were suffering due to the wrong approach to issues like controlling terrorism and handling the economy.

In a brief chat with newspersons at the airport here, Mr Advani who was on a day's visit to the city to participate in the function for the release of Tamil translation of his autobiography ''My life, my country'', alleged that under the inept UPA rule, terrorist activities had been increasing and the economic situation due to the present downslide was also at its worst.

All sections of the people were being put to great hardship, reeling under sever power crisis. Industrial growth had also been suffering due to power cuts, he alleged.

Mr Advani, who is being projected as BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate for the coming Lok Sabha polls, claimed that under the erstwhile BJP led NDA rule, terrorism was under control, economic progress was commendable and there were no power cuts.

''All sections of the people were leading a happy life then.

But now the Congress led UPA government has destroyed this.

Poeple have also understood this'', Mr Advani charged.

''The BJP was prepared to dedicate itself for the welfare of the people again'', he said.

However, when the reporter of a private television channel sought his opinion on the charge made by senior Congress leader and AICC General Secretary Margaret Alva who has resigned from the post, that there was corruption in the Congress led UPA, Mr Advani parried the question.

''I don't wish to talk about this now. I am here for the release of my book in Tamil and this gives me great joy'', Mr Advani remarked.

He said he had agreed to the idea when well known satirist and journalist 'Cho'Ramaswamy suggested to him in March during the release of his autobiography in Delhi, that it should be translated in Tamil also.

It gives me great satisfaction to be in Chennai for the release of the Tamil translation, Mr Advani also said.
