Chennai, Nov 12: The Government of India has accorded Special Economic Zone (SEZ) status for the software park coming up in Coimbatore, said Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M Karunanidhi. Coming up on about 60 acres of land at Vilankurichi in Coimbatore, 10 acres have been allocated to IT major Wipro and five acres for TCS. On a supplementary question over whether the government would ensure reservation for OBCs in this IT park, Karunanidhi said, "we are committed to ensure social equality."
