Rupee falls further to 48.45 per US dollar
Mumbai, Nov 12: The rupee slid by 33 paise to 48.45 against US dollar in the opening session on Wednesday, Nov 12, as compared to the previous close of 48.12, on fresh buying of dollars by foreign banks amid worry that it may lead to fall of stocks.
Later, the domestic currency fluctuated in a narrow range between 48.66 and 48.86 in the intra-day trade. The partially-convertible rupee had fallen by 60 paise in the last two days, brokers said. The dealers fear that the further slide in the rupee may trigger fall of the stocks.
