Rodrigues greets people on Gurpurab

Chandigarh, Nov 12 (UNI) Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Union Territory Administrator, General (retd.) S F Rodrigues has extended his greetings to people on the eve of 'Parkash Utsav' of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

In a message, General Rodrigues said that Guru Ji preached and practiced gospel of oneness, brotherhood, mutual love, social equality and fraternity for fellow beings.

Guru Ji throughout his life exhorted the masses to put in practice the noble principles_ "Do your duty take name of God and share food with others" in spirit of sincerity and faith and it was our onerous responsibility to carry forward his noble mission to the present and future generations, he said.

General Rodrigues said that Guru Ji's teachings were relevant for all times, especially the present time, and appealed to people to follow them in true spirit for carving out a peaceful, prosperous and healthy society.
