Bilaspur, Nov 12: Congress General Secretary and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh claimed that Congress is poised to come back to power in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh as people in both the states were fed up with the BJP governments.

A wave for change is lashing Chhattisgarh and presence of Uma Bharti's Bharatiya Jan Shakti party in Madhya Pradesh will benefit Congress, Mr Singh told reporters here on Wednesday, Nov 12.

He alleged that BJP governments did not keep their promises and remained embroiled in corruption and lost their control on law and order. He claimed that agitated public wanted to throw out BJP and to bring back Congress to power.

Holding BJP responsible for tarnishing the image of Muslims, he said Hindu outfits Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad were equally responsible for spreading terror as Students Islamic Movement of India.

He pointed out that Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, who was an accused in Maharashtra's Malegaon bomb blasts, was a former resident of Madhya Pradesh but she left the state and settled down in Gujarat long ago.

Narendra Modi government has been providing funds to the family of Sadhvi, he added.
