One man's involvovement would not affect Army: IAF Chief
Bangalore, Nov 12 (UNI) Air Chief Marshal Fali Homi Major today allayed fears of Indian defence personnel getting corrupted by religious fundamental elements in the wake of Armymen getting involved in the terrorist attacks.
The IAF Chief speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function organised for the 'Presentation of Presidential Standard and Colours' here, said just one man's involvement into the terrorist activities would not have any impact on the defence system.
''We in IAF have already in place a stringent screening process for any one being recruited into air force. The antecedents of any one being recruited by us will be verified by various agencies including IB before being inducted,'' he said.
The verifications had to be done in the wake of Malegaon bomb blast, he added.
To a question, he said IAF had already cleared the socond runway construction for Bangalore International Airport as the issues, regarding the procedures of flying of the aircrafts in the training zones, had been soted out.
On indigenously developed radars he said the IAF had already inducted Rohini, a three dimensional radar and its performance was excellent.
He said the IAF had ordered 30 more radars being developed by the DRDO along with other public sector units like BEL and to be inducted in the next five years.
