Shillong, Nov 12 (UNI) Major non-Congress political parties from the Northeastern states would meet in Meghalaya to discuss on influx and terrorism, former Lok Sabha Speaker and NCP leader Purno A Sangma said today.

Mr Sangma said these issues will be deliberated during the one-day conference on the theme ''Peace, Stability and Development: Agenda for the North East'' on December 10 in Shillong.

He said political parties like the AGP, BJP and other regional parties in the North East will be invited to participate in the conference hosted by the NCP in Shillong.

''The focus of the conference will be to debate and discuss on how to bring about development in the region and also dwell on the bottlenecks hampering development,'' he told UNI here.

Mr Sangma informed that influx of Bangladeshi migrants into the Northeast will be discussed seriously. He said inevitably terrorism might also be discussed as it is correlated with influx.

''Terrorism is dealt by the state government. However, in the aftermath of the Assam serial blasts it might figure up in the conference as it is correlated with influx,'' he said.
