New Delhi, Nov 12 : The Indian Navy organised a picnic for the special children on Wednesday in New Delhi.

The Indian Navy celebrates 'Navy Week' in the first week of December to commemorate the "Victory at Sea" of the 1971 Indo-Pak conflict. The aim of the Navy week celebration is to bring the Navy closer to the public and generate greater awareness amongst them about the Indian Navy.

The event is conducted by INS India, the main administrative base of Indian Navy at Delhi.

Indian Navy organised a touching event for the not so privileged children - about 79 special children were taken out for a day of fun and frolic to National Rail Museum. 25 children of Four steps school, South ExII, 22 of NIMH Model Special Education Center and 20 of Anchal Special Education Centre attended. Also, another 12 children of Navy's supported SANKALP at Nausenabagh I, Chanakyapuri were a part of the group.

The vice president of Navy Wives Welfare Association (NWWA) Beena Suthan graced the occasion and spent time with them as they enjoyed the joy ride and the magic show. To cheer up the little ones gift hampers, refreshments and lunch was also organised in their favorite National Rail Museum.

A similar picnic has been scheduled on November 20 for 60 underprivileged children from Gyan Shakti Vidyala, Noida, SANKALP (Gurgoan) and ANAFCA, Noida.
