Mumbai, Nov 12 (UNI) BJP general secretary Gopinath Munde today alleged that a conspiracy is being hatched to drag the name of Hindu organisations in connection with the September 29 Malegaon blast case and asked the Anti terrorist squad chief to come out openly on the issue.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Munde, who himself had handled state home portfolio for nearly five years, said he was well aware that under political pressure police officers can resort to any move.
He alleged that blasts did take place in eight states in the recent past which generated the demand of having a strict legislation like TADA and POTA. He alleged due to the fear of losing the votes, the conspiracy of linking Hindu organisations with terrorism has been plotted.
He also criticised the police for defaming military, by saying that some of their officers were involved in the blast and that the RDX was procured from the army depot. Either the police should prove their allegation or they should apologize to the military, he added.
He said that former Lieutenant Colonel Shrikant Purohit, who was arrested, was never on the duty of army depot, but was as an instructor. He said police could not procure any evidence except mobile from the nine accused, including Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, and one of the accused was severely tortured.
He wondered why the Sadhvi had to undergo the Narco analysis test thrice, when the other terrorists who were linked with Students Islamic Movement of India and Indian Mujahideen had not undergone even one Narco analysis test.
Mr Munde referred to the statements of Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and Deputy Chief Minister R R Pail who had said that terrorists did not belong to any particular community and wondered how they made such statement before the Malegaon blast.
