Chandigarh, Nov 12 (UNI) As per the directions of the Haryana Government to free the farmers from private money lenders, a Loan Conciliation Board has been constituted under the chairmanship of Additional District Commissioners in all districts of the state.
Giving this information today, an official spokesman said a revenue officer, a representative of the leading bank and two non-official members would be appointed in each district level Board.
He said all those borrowers who had deposited double or more of the principle amount were eligible to apply for loan concession to the district level Board.
He said those borrowers, who had already paid more or actual principle loan amount to the money lenders and were still not free from the loan, would be helped by this Board as this District level Board had the powers to solve such cases.
The spokesman said the Haryana government had taken this step to improve the economic condition of the poor farmers and the people of the state.
According to the directions of the Haryana Government, a monthly meeting would be held to discuss the cases registered with the Board and long due loan cases would be settled.
These Boards would focus on settling the Agriculture based employment cases and other matters related to the farmers. He said both money lender agencies and borrowers would be invited in the Board meetings.
