AP: Law university Chancellor visits new site

Visakhapatnam, Nov 12: Andhra Pradesh Law University Chancellor A Lakshminath today inspected the new site allotted by the government to establish the Law University at Sabhavaram mandal in this district.

After meeting District Collector Sanjay Kumar and requesting him to mark the site for the university, he told newpersons here that the varsity which came into being through an Act, passed a week ago, would offer law courses with a multi-diciplinary approach.

The degree courses would commence at the university headquaters here and Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy's native district Kadapa and Nizamabad campuses in June next year. The University would offer five-year integrated course in BA LL.B and BSc LL.B and BBA LL.B (honours), he said.

Stating that the aim of the university was to provide quality education at the doorsteps of the people, he said it would introduce PG diploma programmes in topics like Disaster Management and Law, Disability and Law, Interlectual Property Rights, among other courses.

The university would launch Ph.D programmes in law with sciences and Business Administration soon, he said adding a state-of-the-art building would be constructed in the campus and a library with ample collection of good books collection, he added.
