Allahabad, Nov 12 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court has directed Chief Secretary of the State to inquire into the Sampurna Gramin Rozgar Yojna (SGRY) scam in Mau district and file his personal affidavit in the Court on December 11.
Prashant Kumar Misra was directed to give details of the procedure under which the SGRY is implemented and the agency responsible for implementing the scheme in connection with the Mau district.
The Court wanted the name of the officers, who had implemented the scheme and committed irregularities under drought relief scheme, while implementing the SGRY, launched by the Central government to ensure employment to unemployed villagers in the Mau district.
Mr Misra has been directed to give details of the actions taken against the persons responsible for implementing the scheme along with the records of the action taken against them.
The petitioner had challenged an order dated August 18, 2008 passed by CDO, Mau, whereby progress report regarding recovery for the year 2002-03 was called for from the sub-divisional magistrate, Ghosi, Mau. The petitioner was posted as junior engineer in Mau.
A complaint was lodged by some reasons alleging therein that the petitioner and four other junior engineers have committed irregularities under the drought relief scheme, while implementing the SGRY. The order was passed by Justice Sabhajeet Yadav on a writ petition filed by one Anil Kumar Srivastava.
