Govt trying to provide employment opportunities:Soren
Chatra, Nov 12 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren today said efforts were on to generate employment and eradicate poverty from the state.
Addressing a gathering at the inauguration of two new blocks-- Kanhachatti and Mayurhand here, Mr Soren said formation of new blocks would enhance the flow of welfare schemes and provide employment for the unemployed.
''You should all ask government officials about welfare schemes and ensure your participation,'' Mr Soren said.
He said the government has also launched various schemes to make people literate and aware about their rights.
Urging people to focus more on agriculture, he said that the state government would provide more irrigation facilities to them.
Others who were present on this occasion included local MP Dhirendra Agarwal, MLA Ramchanra Ram and former MLA Janardan Paswan.
