Jaipur, Nov 12 (UNI) Former President A P J Abdul Kalam has underlined the importance of value based family in building a noble nation.
Speaking at the release of his book--The Family and The Nation-- which he has co-authored with Acharya Mahapragya, Dr Kalam said that seeds of a noble nation needed to be sown in the family.
"Only an individual who was brought up in a family that instills the right value, will be able to realise his or her responsibily towards nation", the missile Man said.
Dr Kalam also defined righteousness through a divine vedic hymn.
In his interactive styled speech Mr Kalam made the audience recite the hymn with him which reads as follows : Where there is righteousness in the heart,/There is beauty in the character./When there is beauty in character,/ There is harmony in the home./When there is harmony in the home,/ There is an order in the nation./When there is order in the nation,/ There is peace in the world.
"We believe it is possible to evolve a noble nation with basic foundation of righteousness in the hearts and right values in family,'' he said adding, ''with this belief our people can live in a clean, green environment without pollution, prosper wihout poverty, experience peace without fear of war, thereby, India can definitely become a model for the evolution of such a society in the planet earth".
Acharya Mahapragya, Spiritual Head of the Terapanthic Jain sect and co-author of the book, said the book was outcome of an endeavour of bringing about conciliation between spirituality and science.
The union of science and spirituality was very much essential to resolve human problems, the Acharya said.
