Afro-Asian peoples' solidarity organisation meet from Dec 14
Hyderabad, Nov 12 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the 8th conference of the Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Organisation (AAPSO), one of the oldest people's organisation to be held here from December 14 to 16.
Addressing a press conference today, All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO) Vice-President and CPI MP Aziz Pasha along with AIPSO General Secretary and Congress MLC Yadav Reddy, said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, CPI(M) Politburo member Sitaram Yechuri, CPI Deputy General Secretry and MP Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy would address the conference.
Founding-President of Namibia Sam Nujoma would be the guest of honour at the conference, in which delegates from 38 countries, including Bangladesh, Burma, China, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Algeria would participate, he added.
Issues like financial crisis and its impact on the developing countries, climate change, peace and nuclear free world, NAM, South-South cooperation and solidarity with the people of the South would be discussed in the conference, he added.
AAPSO had played a historic role in mobilising people of Asia and Africa for the liberation of their countries from the yoke of imperialism, he said.
