Satyam sticks to revenue forecast at 21% growth in $-terms

Kolkata, Nov 11 (UNI) Information Technology(IT) service-provider Satyam Computers Services Ltd today stuck to its revenue guidance at 21 per cent growth in USD-terms for the current fiscal, provided a flat price environment persisted during the period.

Informing this to newspersons here on the sidelines of CEO Summit, organised by NASSCOM, Satyam Chairman Ramalinga Raju said, ''We had our earnings call a few weeks ago. We have taken all factors into account. Inflation has not changed our forecasts. We have taken into consideration that there would be flat price environment throughout the year. On an average, there would not be any price reduction.'' Satyam Computers Services specialises in business software and offers back-office outsourcing services.

When asked whether a slowdown in the banking, financial services and insurance(BFSI) would impact the company, Mr Raju said, ''Our guidance is not limited to BFSI sector alone, which contributes 15 per cent to the firm's business. Our outlook is what we have anticipated. We are confident about delivering the commitments we have made,'' he averred.

In context to the company's plan to come up with its project in West Bengal, Mr Raju said, ''We have asked the state government for the extension of facilities that would entitle our project an SEZ status. We have also requested the government for some additional pieces of land.'' However, the chairman was reluctant to share any details further.
