Chennai, Nov 11: The main Opposition AIADMK and its ally MDMK on Tuesday, Nov 11 staged a noisy walk out from Tamil Nadu Assembly demanding the resignation of the DMK government for its alleged failure to provide adequate security to Party Supremo J Jayalalithaa. During Zero Hour, the AIADMK members led by Deputy Leader O Panneerselvam and Party Whip K A Sengottaiyan made a vain bid to raise the issue of the attack on Ms Jayalalithaa's convoy during his visit to Pasumpon on October 31, to pay her obeisance to freedom fighter Muthuramalinga Thevar on his birth centenary.

As Speaker R Avudaiyappan refused permission, the AIADMK members were on their feet and shouted slogans condemning the DMK government for failing to provide security to Ms Jayalalithaa, who is under Z Plus security, and demanded the resignation of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and the DMK government.

The Speaker's repeated pleas to the AIADMK members to resume their seats went unheeded.

With the AIADMK shouting slogans on this issue on one side, and members of PMK, Congress and CPI raising slogans on the other, on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue, noisy scenes were witnessed in the House. Nothing could be heard in the din.

The shouting AIADMK members made repeated pleas with the Speaker to raise the issue before Mr Sengottaiyan led his party members out of the House.

Members of the MDMK, an ally of the AIADMK, too shouted slogans before following suit.

Later, talking to newspersons outside the Assembly complex, Mr Sengottaiyan and Mr Panneerselvam said the walk out was to condemn the State government's failure to provide adequate security to Ms Jayalalithaa when she visited Pasumpon.
