Patna, Nov 11 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister and senior JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar today exhorted the party workers to launch massive mass contact programmes in their respective areas to make them aware of the achievements of the NDA government in view of the coming Lok Sabhha election.
Addressing the party workers here, Mr Kumar said they should start preparation for the coming Lok Sabha election and make the masses aware of the achievements of the NDA government to counter the attack of the Oppostion parties on the issue.
'' Our achievement in successfully facing the challenges of catastrophic floods in north Bihar was splendid as in no state such a mega rescue and relief operation was ever launched for the flood victims, '' Mr Kumar said.
He stated that RJD supremo and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad was only engaged in misleading the people by making false allegations on the performance of the state government in this regard.
The Chief Minister said Steel and Fertiliser Minister Ramvilas Paswan had tried to provide relief to the flood victims by setting up relief centres from SAIL but it had created a law and order problem as there was total mismanagement in such camps.
Mr Kumar lamented that Mr Prasad was not interested in exerting pressure on the Centre to ensure safety and security to Biharis in Maharashtra.
The RJD supremo had failed to utilise the opportunity provided by the en-masse resignation of JD(U) MPs, while the DMK had managed to exert pressre on the Centre to protect the interests of Tamils in Sri Lanka despite being numerically weak than that of the RJD in Lok Sabha, he added.
