Nirula's launches healthy burgers, to go for overhaul of menu
New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) Targeting the health-conscious consumers, fast food chain Nirula's today launched a new range of burgers 'Nutribyte', which offers a low calorie option to the customers.
''The USP of these healthy burgers is that they are prepared with 100 per cent whole wheat flour, lean meat, extra vegetables and green...We have not compromised on the taste and quality fronts...Burgers have become a staple diet for youth and therefore, we decided to come up with a healthier option which is not only nutritious but also scrumptious,'' Nirula's Group CEO and Managing Director Samir Kuckreja told reporters here.
The company has tied up with US-based health management firm Nutrition Vista to launch the burgers and is also going for a major overhaul of its menu with plans to introduce healthy food substitutes across its entire range, Mr Kuckreja apprised.
Meanwhile, Nutrition Vista Managing Director Mrinal Jhangiani said, ''Children love eating burgers and they deserve to be offered a healthier option. We started working with Nirula's last year.
First, we recommended buns made of whole wheat flour, then we asked for change in the oil for lowering the fat content in the burgers...it is an ongoing process and we are working to bring in some more healthier options in Nirula's menu.'' Nirula's had launched 100 per cent sugar free ice cream -- Biolite-- few months back and plans to bring in some more healthier options in frozen desserts for diabetics by summers.
