'Margaret's statements a pointer to happenings in Congress' : BJP
New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) Without hiding its glee over the happenings in the Congress resulting in the resignation of its General Secretary Margaret Alva, the BJP today said the allegations by a senior leader of Mrs Alva's stature was an indicator of things going on in the ruling party.
Asked for his reaction, BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said Mrs Alva was a senior functionary in the Congress and also a member of the Congress Working Committee, the highest decision making body which also distributes the tickets. Her statement points towards the happenings in the party.
She was not the lone leader to express her views on the happenings and some senior colleagues too had endorsed her views, he said.
To a question if Mrs Alva, who alleged corruption in distribution of tickets applying double standards, would join the BJP, Mr Javadekar said the question should be directed to the Congress functionary and not to the BJP.
While the BJP is happy over the Congress' discomfort, Janata Dal (Secular) Chief H D Deve Gowda ducked the questions asking the reporters not to drag him into internal affairs of another party.
