Imphal, Nov 11 (UNI) The Manipur government employees have announced to organise a series of agitations demanding implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.
The Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of all Manipur Trade union Congress (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees Organisation (AMGEO) members wore black badges today in support of their demands.
The two organisations announced pen down strike from November 20 to 26 and cease work strike from November 27.
President of the JAC K Madhumangol Singh said numerous memoranda were submitted to the government demanding implementation of the new Pay recommendations.
The JAC also demanded the merger of 50 per cent DA/DR with basic pay/pension, rectification of pay anomalies, restoration of Died-in-harness Scheme, fixation of Minimum Wages based on the Consumer's Price Index, 2007, and payment of arrears and Variable Dearness Allowances (VDA).
The JAC said facilities such as Duty Allowance, Messing Allowance anmd TA should be given to the Home Guards of Manipur Ad-hoc employees and work charged employees should be regularised.
The JAC is also demanding retirement age to be fixed at 60 years instead of 59 years or at par with Central Government employees.
