Vijayawada, Nov 11 (UNI) The Left parties-- CPI and CPI(M) today announced that they would lay siege to the Collectorate and Revenue Division Office in the Krishna District for two days from November 20 to press their demands.
Talking to newspersons here, CPI District Secretary S Nageswara Rao and CPI (M) District Secretary V Umamaheswara Rao said their demands, included distribution of house sites to the poor, solution of land problems in the district and initiating measures to control the skyrocketing prices.
They also demanded the State Government to change the pink cards into white cards of the poor, following increase of income limit upto Rs 72,000 by the present Government and proper distribution of rice and essential commodities through fair price shops.
Mr Umamaheswara said due to incrase in the petroleum prices, the prices of essential commodities increased but prices of crude oil in the international market had dipped from US$ 140 a barrel to US Dollar 60 a barrel and the Centre should immediately roll back petrol and diesel prices.
