Ahmedabad, Nov 10 (UNI) Thanks to captain knock of 62 runs by Inzamam-ul-Haq, Lahore Badshahs has sailed into the best of 3 finals by defeating Chennai Superstars by six wickets in the first day-night semi-final of Twenty-20 cricket match played at the Sardar Patel Stadium here tonight.
Chasing the victory targets of 166 runs set by Chennai Superstars, Lahore Badshahs attained the objective with 7 balls to spare with loosing just four wickets.
The six wicket's win by Lahore Badshahs has secured the birth in best of 3 D/N matches to be played at the same venue. Lahore Badshahs will take on victor of second D/N semi-final to be played between Hyderabad Heroes and Royal Bengal Tigers here tomorrow.
Inzamam was adjudged as the Man-of-Match for winning performance of 62 runs made in just 33 balls and studded with two towering sixes and eight boudaries.
Others who played remarkably were Imran Farhat (45) and Mohammad Yousuf, who scored unbeaten 28. Imran's 45 runs were made in just 24 balls with help of 5 boundaries and 3 sixes.
Earlier, after loosing toss and batting first Chennai Superstars scored 165 runs at loss of 7 wickets in stipulated 20 overs.
Chennai Superstars had good contributions from top and middle order batsmen - J Harvey (29), RP Arnold (26), H K Badani (37) and R Satish (37) - to set good score of 165 at loss of 7 wickets.
Major damages to Chennai Superstars were done by Naved-ul-Hassan and Saqlain Mushtag by taking 2 and 3 wickets, respectively.
