JPCC observes Abul Kalam Azad's birth anniversary

Ranchi, Nov 11 (UNI) Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) today paid floral tributes to the country's first education minister Moulana Abul Kalam Azad on his birth anniversary at the party headquarters here.

Speaking on the occasion, the party leaders said the late Moulana, who was also conferred upon Bharat Ratna, worked for spreading education among people.

''He launched special drive to educate people and make them aware about the need of employment-based education,'' party leaders said.

The party leaders also garlanded the portrait of the former Indian National Congress President.

The day is observed as National Education Day.
