"ewe" kitchen ware enters Chennai market
Chennai, Nov 11 (UNI) "ewe", Europe's leading modular kitchen maker, today opened its doors for the discerning Chennai customers by opening its first exclusive showroom in India, a 7000 sq ft facility, in the city today.
The showroom was set up through an exclusive distribution tie up with Orchid Designs Private Limited, which has more than 20 show rooms for its kitchen gallery products "Cookscape" across India.
Speaking to reporters at the launch function, Orchid Designs CEO K Chandrasekaran and the Austria-based 'ewe' export manager Bruno Sterner said the company was planning to get 25 per cent market share over the next two years, by targetting high-end and premium segments like Corporates.
''The market has matured from the carpenter-made self designed kitchens to designer kitchens and a survey by the company showed that more than 50 per cent of premium homes will opt for high end products like ewe'', Mr Chandrasekaran said.
The 'ewe' kitchens were priced in the rangeof Rs six lakhs to Rs 40 lakhs. Orchid has been negotiating with premium real estate companies for including this in the construction package.
From Chennai, 'ewe' would move to Bangalore before covering Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata in the next six months.
''We will be foraying into SAARC and Middle East countries in the next two years'', he said.
