Egyptian President to visit India on Nov 17-18
New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will arrive here on November 17 on a two-day visit for discussions with the Indian leaders on several issues of bilateral and regional interest, including West Asia situation, regional security and trade and investment.
The visit is part of Egypt's heightened diplomatic activity for regional integration, security and its development agenda, a senior official said here today.
''President Mubarak's visit to India on November 17-18 falls in that context,'' the official said adding that the proposed visit is also part of Egypt's ''outreach approach'' towards the country's goals of development and containing tension in the region, achieving development and attracting more investment.
The Egyptian President will discuss Palestinian issue and the role of the G-8, the official said.
Italy and France have proposed inviting Egypt to join the G-8.
Egypt would attend the G-8 meeting in Italy in January next year.
