Bhopal, Nov 10: In the run-up to assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh and other states, arrest of Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, army officer Shrikant Prasad Purohit and others in connection with Malegaon blasts are turning out to be burning election issues.

While BJP President Rajnath Singh has strongly reacted to the issue, BJP MP and party secretary Prabhat Jha and state BJP President Narendra Singh Tomar alleged that the Congress was lending political colours to the blast issue in order to please minority vote bank in view of upcoming state assembly polls.

In a statement released here, Mr Tomar said a conspiracy was being hatched to put nationalistic ideology in the dock. The Congress was trying to cover up its criminal failure by defaming Hindutva.

He charged that the sadhvi had been trapped as a part of a conspiracy. This has put question marks on the intentions of the Congress.

Mr Tomar alleged that secular forces, which were dejected by allegations levelled against the banned Students Islamic Movement of India, were attempting to tarnish the image of nationalistic parties.
