Sadhvi arrested under political pressure: Thackeray
Mumbai, Nov 10 (UNI) Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray today reiterated that Malegaon blast case suspects Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and the Armymen were arrested under political pressure and that he was ready to provide legal assistance to them.
In an editorial in the Party mouthpiece ''Saamna'', Mr Thackeray also took a dig at state Congress Election Campaign Committee chairman and Congress MP Gurudas Kamat, who had demanded his arrest for supporting Pragya.
Daring Mr Kamat to arrest him, the Party supremo said such attempts were tried by former Chief Minister Vasantrao Naik and former Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, while recalling the violence that erupted following his arrest then.
Mr Thackeray said the Congress continued to pamper the minority community and give second grade treatment to the majority community, forcing a Sadhvi or a military officer to opt for ''revolutionary path for revenge''.
He said once the ''minority pampering'' would stop, its repercussions would also die down.
