Reports of China's military presence in Male unbelievable: Ansari
On Board Special Aircraft, Nov 10 (UNI) Vice President Mohammed Hamid Ansari today dismissed reports of China's military penetration in Male.
Dr Ansari was talking to reporters enroute to Maldives to represent India in the swearing-in ceremony of newly-elected President of Maldives Mohammed Nasheed.
Dr Ansari said he does not agree with the so-called reports of China's military presence in Male.
He said Mr Nasheed too came to India after getting elected and he also did not agree with the authenticity of this report.
The Vice-President stated that internally a change has come in the Maldives through democracy process but despite that there is no change in the relationship of the two countries.
''India will carry on to cooperate with the new government,'' he added.
On the victory of Democratic candidate Barack Obama in the US Presidential election, he said it is a very important and historical moment for the people of America.
''He has raised hopes that Indo-American relationship will further strenghthen and become more robust under the new government,'' Mr Ansari said.
