Kurukshetra, Nov 10 (UNI) Three youths were nabbed with fake Indian currency of Rs five lakh at Pipli, about 5 kms from here, on GT Road last night.

Acting on a tip-off, police apprehended three youths age between 25 to 28 years when they were waiting for some clients near the bus stand at Pipli and recovered counterfeit notes of Rs 1,000 denomination from their possession. The police also seized an Alto car, which was stolen by the accused from UP.

The accused were identified as Ram Prasad alias Pradeep of Sonipat, Om Prakash of Bir Badalwa in Karnal district and Rakesh Kumar of Delhi.

The trio had a printing machine for minting fake notes, which they used to operate from a rented accomodation in Patel Nagar, Bahadurgarh town of Jhajjar district. They used to supply the notes to the drug peddlers in far flung places of the Punjab and Himachal.

Earlier also they were involved in the fake currency business and Om Prakash and Ram Prasad were lodged in Karnal Jail rpt Karnal Jail after they were sentenced by a court on the charge of running fake currency in the market. It was here that they planned to set up a printing press for fake notes.
